Book News: Gayle Forman’s “If I Stay” film gets Lead and Director

Gayle Forman’s book, If I Stay, has made some movement in the production of the film with news of it’s director and lead. R.J. Cutler (Nashville) is in talks of directing the film while Chloe Moretz (Kickass/Carrie) is starring as the protagonist, Mia. Here’s a synopsis of the book: In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck…”

After years of helming documentaries and TV shows, R.J. Cutler is closing in on his first narrative feature directing gig: Summit Entertainment’s “If I Stay.”

Cutler is in talks to direct the supernatural music pic with Chloe Moretz attached to star.

I personally haven’t read the book but I’m a huge fan of Chloe Moretz. What do you guys think of the her as the lead?
