Review:

I really like this graphic novel. It’s humorous but it’s also eye opening. It’ll give male readers an inside look at life as a woman while letting female readers know that they’re not alone. I really don’t want to be vague about the plot but it’ll be better for readers to find out for themselves. It’s smart and a much needed addition in comics. Tinka is the perfect example of what girls these days are believe – needing a male gaze and attention to validate their existence and putting up with jerks. I loved that Tinka grows throughout the story and becomes a role to be looked up at.  The added twist of magical intervention is just the cherry on top. The art is okay but not a stand out and the cover (although not final) could use some work.

I’ve grown up with the comic book characters we all know and love but I finally got into comics with the launch of DC’s NEW 52 in 2011. These opinions are mine and mine alone…unless, you know, you agree which will then mean it’s OUR opinion but disagreeing is totally fine too.
